"More than just a walk in the park..."
Adventure Paws was founded in 2018 by canine behaviour specialist Tom Steele and his best friend, a rescue dog named Sky.
Together they embarked on an adventure, to create an alternative to the traditional dog walking and day care style services.
From this Adventure Paws was born. A unique dog development company that focuses on your dogs needs. Specialising in pack work, our sessions focus on ensuring that mental and physical enrichment is achieved so that your dog is not only looked after during their time with us but that they learn to thrive in life.

What makes us different...
Adventure Paws is not just designed to facilitate your needs as an owner, but more importantly your dogs needs. All our clients start their journey with us with a home consultation where we delve in to all aspects of your dog and their needs. From the consultation we pick the best services / sessions to suit your dog. Once agreed, your dog is then booked on to their "assessment session" where we get the opportunity to work with the dog to see how they handle in different situations. After this, we then look to introduce them to some of our established pack members.
When starting out we assess your dogs temperament, activity and needs to help us tailor their pack. This ensures they've the right balance of pack mates to help bring out the most in them.
In order to provide the best service possible for your dogs we strive to give as much off lead time as we safely can. To do this, we start at our secure 4.5 acre "Basecamp" where our team of dog handlers work on developing their relationship and bond with your dog through positive reinforcement to ensure they can perform our pack fundamental skills, we call this phase "The Adventure Paws Academy." These skills include, "sit", "stay", "break", "down", "up" and "drop" as well as prove they walk on a loose lead and showcase good social etiquette with their pack mates.
Once your dog has graduated from our Adventure Paws Academy, they will then move on in to our active adventures where they begin to explore the Welsh wilderness with their pack mates. All dogs wear GPS trackers whilst out on public adventures to ensure maximum safety and peace of mind for you as an owner. For clients on our subscription packages we also track their dogs activity throughout the sessions. We use activity monitors connected to their collar or harness so we are aware of how much energy they are expending and how much time they've spent resting. This allows us to work closely with our team to safely manage our pack members from puppies to OAPs, as well as offer you support in diet requirements and behaviour management going forward.
Our daily sessions finish back at Basecamp where our pack members are thoroughly washed and dried before they embark on their finally journey of a sleepy ride in our adventure vans back to your home.
You can rest assured they will spend the rest of their day content whilst you can relax in the peace of mind that all your dogs needs have been met. Our clients on our subscription also have the luxury to scroll through pictures and videos from our adventures on their dogs pack member album.

The bigger picture...
Adventure Paws has been built from Tom's love of helping dogs. What started out as just Tom and Sky has grown in to a pack of his own as he continues to rescue, foster and rehabilitate dogs in need alongside the company. For Tom this is not a job but a way of life. The company has supported his ability to do this and is the driving factor behind his success. By using our services not only are you benefitting your dog but in fact helping many, many more.
Thank You.
